SWIMMING CARNIVAL.

IN AID OF THE BLIND. A swimming carnival in aid of the Sir Arthur Pearson Fund for the Blind was held at the Tepid Baths on Saturday night, under the auspices of the Canterbury Centre of the New Zealand Amateur Swim, in mg Association. The adverse weather conditions affected the attendance considerably. Tho entries were large and the racing was keen. Although the attendance was small, A largo number of tickets bad been sold. Mr H. Savage and fellow-work-ers sent in a donation cf £2 14h for the fund. It is expected that more than £-250 will be realised. The principal officials were: —Referee. Mr H. S.
