A French aeroplane, flying from London to Paris, nose-dived into the sea from a. height of 2000 feet, three miles from Folkestone. A crowded Channel steamer proceeded at full speed to the spot and picked up the mutilated bodies of the two passengers. Dr Ley, a leading London surgeon, and a Frenchman. The body of the French pilot was not recovered.
