THE TASK OF PEACE. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. NEW YORK, May 31. The Premier of South Australia, Mr H- N. Barwell delivered a speech at a luncheon given by the English Speaking Union, in w'hich he expressed the necessity for close co-operation between the British Empire and the United States to assure the peace of the world- He was not able to formulate a plan by which this eo-operation could be brought about hut this aspect could he dealt with by the statesmen of the two nations. Tt would be well if France would also join in hut. in the event of France not seeing her way clear to do so, the F/Uglish-speaking peoples should take up the task alone of righting civilisation.
