RISING CRUSHED.
REBEL TRIBE ROUTED, By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received June 1, noon. ‘ CAPETOWN, May 31. Operations against the rebel Bondelzwarts tribe in. tho Southwest Protectorate, culminated in a successful assault on the stronghold at Haib by troops and volunteer settlers, assisted by aeroplanes, the position being captured. The enemy suffered severely from aeroplane bombs, which caused much havoc, especially among the enemy’s stock. The principal rebel leader, Morris, and a considerable number of his followers, escaped under cover of darkness. A hundred prisoners were captured. An official report states that the rising has been completely crushed, with a loss to the Government forces of two killed and two wounded. A considerable number of the enemy were killed, including two oi the leaders. The fugitives are making for tho Ornngo River, and troops have been despatched thither.
