The tragedy of racial hate and suspicion continues t-o dog the footsteps of Prince Yi, the former heir of the last Korean Emperor, and his young wife, th© Imperial Japanese Princess Nashimoto, whose only infant son has just died at Beoul, where the couple were- making a visit in order to show a baby combining the Imperial and Royal houses to the former Emperor., its grand-parent, and t-o the Korean people. The marriage of this couple was postponed, as the result of the tragic sudden death of the Korean Emperor, which precipitated tlio Korean revolution for independence Two years ago the delayed marriage was solemnised behind military guards, who were required to guard against assassination by Korean radicals. Stores of bombs were discovered at the time. Now the first fruit of the union lies a tiny corpse in the old Korean capital. with the sensational section of the Japanese press hinting that the babe was poisoned b> Korean haters of the Japanese Imperial House. The police censor notifies the press that- “ such foolish rumors must not be published.” The press generally expresses grief and offers condolence to the parents, while debating possible political consequences.
