REDCLIFFS. A meeting of the ltcdcliffs Burgesses As sociation wan held iu the Library on Saturday evening. Mr F. T. Eldridge presiding The Town Clerk of Sumner wrote that a sum of £75 had been placed on the es»i mates for a public convenience at Redcliff--. and that the work would b© put in hand as soon as a site was definitely fixed. The secretary was instructed to writ© thanking the Borough Council for th© prompt manner in which the various works in the district had been carried out. A letter was received from the Christchurch Tramway Board stating that with the approach of winter the overcrowding on the early buxines* cars had decreased, and the board could not i=ee its way to make any alteration at present. The opin ion was expressed that, for the winter months, the provision of large trailers would meet the situation, and it was de oided to ask the board to provide them a# far as possible. lt was decided to approach the Defence Department to obtain permission to plant a belt of trees along the street frontage of the rifle and a suh-coremittee oet up to interview the defence authoriti *3 on the matter. ADDINGTON. The monthly meeting of the Addington Burgesses' Association was held in th© Dickens Street Hall on Thursday. Th© president. Mr F. Mathieson. presided oxer a good attendance of members. One new member was received. It was resolved to write to the City Council for information aa to who was responsible for the maintenance of Lincoln Road between the station yards at Addington, as it bad been in a had state for some time, and was ?e garded as a source of danger to wheeled traffic. Tt also was resolved to write to the Waimairi County Council asking it to stop cycle traffic on the path on Lincoln Road from the Bh jw Grounds to "Wright's Road, as it was becoming a source of danger to pedestrians. The Social Committee reported having held three social? this ?pa son. all of which had been a success both socially and financially.
