No. 7 west. Wootton, No. 7 breastwork. BHtXPINO NOTES The Kakapo 'leaves Dunedin to-day for Oaniaru, Timaru, Westport and Greymouth. The schooner Valmarie was placed on the Wellington slip on Saturday for examination. The Progress, formerly a schooner, which recently had engines installed at Dunedin, arrived on Saturday afternoon from the south under the comaud of Captain E. F. Naylor, with him Mr I*. Chadwick as mate. The vessel sailed from Dunedin in twentythree hours at a rate of 8.3 knots an hour. She leaves to-day for Picton and the West Coast. It is intended to employ her between West Coast ports. Tho Corinna arrived from Wellington on Saturday evening. She will load transhipments on the Piako to-day and anil for Dunedin this evening. On Friday she is due back in port, via Timaru to load for Nelson and New Plymouth. Tho Kaikorai left for Timaru on Saturday evening *.o complete her loading for Auckland. The Kjyuona was dispatched from Lyttelton on Saturday afternoon for Picton, whore ehe will load for Onehunga. The Hama should arrive from the Chatham Telanda to-morrow with sheep anrl wool for discharge. On landing her live stock and wool she proceeds to Wellington to discharge her consignment of fish. The Kurow is due froam Dunedin tomorrow and should sail for Auckland on Friday or Saturday. ISLAND TRADE. The Navua is due at Auckland to-morrow from Suva. INTERCOLONIAL SERVICE. The Waikouaiti. which arrived on Saturday morning ficm Dunedin, will leave for fcyduey cn Friday next.
