TRINITY CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH.

FIFTY-EIGHTH ANNIVERSARY. The fifty-eighth anniversary of Trin. lty Congregational Church was celebrated ill Trinity Lecture Hall last evening Ihere was a large gathering- The Sunday services were con ducted by the pastor, the Rev H J. Huff a dine, and were well attended An augmented choir, undbr the Joader6mp of .Mr .R. J>. Rodgers, rendered special music, the soloists being Miss beta Brav “Resignation,'’ Miss Nellie Billchffc “ Teach Me to Pray.” and • Jr Sydney Gilchrist “The Coining of the King.’* The tea in Trinity Hall was n great success. Following on the ion a public meeting was held. The Kev H. J. Huffadiuc occupied the 1 ho pastor said it was encouraging to sen so many present. The church was formed iri 18( H, although a small, company made a beginning in 1861. I Jit* pastor spoke of the removal by death of faithtui workers whose planes would he hard to till, but said there in's an encouraging note for the coming year. He reminded those present that Mr A. \\ . Bcavcn, a deacon ot the church, w.»s paying a visit to'thc Old Land with his wife and daughter, and ho was sure one and all wished them a pleasant journey and safe turnThe Rev TV. 11. A. Vickery, of the Tennys m Street Church, congratulated the pastor on the work of the church, and gave an address on the word “ Work.” Ihe Rev Clyde Carr, of the Lin woo*. Church, brought the greeting of his people. He said he was always pleased to he present at such gatherings-. \\ bile listening to the previous speakers his mind was carried back to the earlier part# of the day. He had paid a Visit to the Provincial Council ( hambers, and it was an inspiration tn gaze upon the work, work which redounded to the credit of the early pioneers They needed to-day a spirit like that which inspired those worthy men in 1850 who laid the foundation of this city. An excellent musical programme was provided, the following contributing : --Songs, Miss 51. Nelson, Miss Olwyn Owen. Airs Stapp ; duct. Miss M. Nelson and Air G. Fawcett; monologue. Rev Clyae Carr; humorous reci tntion. Air A. Dey song. 51 r Reg. Woodham- Miss Gwen Owen and Mr R. T). Rodgers were accompanists. A hearty vote of thanks, proved by the chairman and seconded by 5Tr TV "Wilkinson, was passed to the ladies ot the church and the performers.
