At a meeting of directors of the Ashburton Stock and Saleyarda Company Mr John Crigg resigned his position as director and chairman of directors. A vote of thanks to him for his long and valuable services was carried unanimously- ~Mr Robert Bell vas elected chairman of directors in place of Mr Grigg. Commander Wilfred Ward Hunt, of H.M.S. Melbourne, who was instrumental in rescuing the crew of the schooner Helen B- Sterling, sailed for England in the mail steamer Osterley last month. He has gone to rejoin the British Navv after having served for three years in the Australian Navv. to which he luul been lent.
