By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received May 13, 10.25 a.m.) SYDNEY, May 13The Sydney ” Daily Telegraph,” commenting on the animation of the wool market, says: “Seldom has the demand for merinoes been so keen and widespread as it is to-day. Seldom, if ever, have the general conditions of the market been as favourable to growers. It truly is a won derful market. As prices go up the de maud seems to widen and accentuate, arid practically all sections are operating. All are eager to secure supplies before the season ends. Buyers are unable to fill their orders in the auction rooms, and have been keen operators privately. The crossbred position also shows a distinct improvement. Though a marked preference has been revealed for tho finer free descriptions. tho demand for very coarse and burry sorts is still prejudiced by the big weight of B.A.W.R.A. low grade cross-breds remaining over from the appraisement, scheme, which hangs like a wet blanket over the trade.” CLEARING SALE REPORT.
