Inquiries have been made as to payment of wages on Anzac Day. The position is that in cases of weekly wages, where no provision is made in awards for a holiday on Anzac Day, and an employee does not ask" his employer for a day off he must be paid the ordinary wage on that day whether he works or not, as the default will not rest with the employee. In cases of hourly w ages, an etn plover put off on Anzac Day will lose bis wages on that day.
