FIRES.

(Per Press Association.) PALMERSTON NORTH, April 20 Just before two o’clock this morning a fire was discovered in a. wooden building situated on the western side of the Square Two shops were destroyed. the occupants being J. H. Watt, jycle dealer, and Joe Kwongon, fruiterer. A small portion of the contents »a.> saved. Watt's stock was valued at £llsO and insured for £BSO. The Chinaman had no insurance on his stock. Hie premises of the Universal Supply Company, adjoining the buildings destroyed, were badly damaged by water, and goods valued at over £IOOO were rendered useless.
