WIRELESS TO BRITAIN.
AUSTRALIAN AGREEMENT. By Telegraph—P roe? Association—Copyright Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received March 30, 11 a.m.) MELBOURNE, March 30. Mr Fisk, uf the Amalgamated Wireless Ltd., referring to the wireless agreement with the Commonwealth Government, explained that it Mould be two years before the central feeder stations were finished in England and Canada. The main station for overseas traffic would be three times as powerful as any European station, and will speak direct over 12,000 miles for the greater part of each day. It would consist of transmitting and receiving stations thirty miles apart. The former would cover over one square mile of country with twenty-four towers 800 feet high. The receiving station would comprise two wireless masts each 200 ft high.
