HOCKEY.

SELWYN CLUB. The twelfth annual meeting of the Selwyn Hockey Club was held in the Y.M.C.A last evening. Mr IV. Bell presiding over a fair attendance of members. The annual report showed that the past season had been a most successful one. the club having won the senior and third grade competitions and the senior and third grade five-a-side competitions. The senior grade team had out up a record performance ju winning all eleven matches played and obtaining 38 goals and having only four goals scored against them. The balance-sheet showed a small debit balance on the year's working. It. was decided to increase members' subscriptions as follow: —15s for players over twenty-one years. 12s 6d for players between eighteen aud twenty-one. and 7s 6d for players under the age of eighteen years, all subscriptions to be liable to a reduction of 2s 6d if paid before June 30 each season. Seven resignations were received and two new members were elected. The election of officers resulted:— Patron, Mr W. Johnston; president. Mr T. W. Richmond; vice-presidents. Messrs W. Bell. TV. Clark, A. Hay. F. D. Kesteven. W. H. Down. W. Fairclough. W. Hay, C. D. Gibson, E. J. Howard. M.P.. F. Crawford, S. J. L. Hewitt, and Rev R. B. Tinsley; honorary secretary, Mr T. M’Caflfrey; assistant secretary. Mr J. Squire; honorary treasurer. Mr E. H. Smith; club caplain. Mr F. Crawford; honorary auditor. Mr E. M. Hill; committee, officers of the club And Messrs B. Morris and H. Hore; selection committee, captain of the senior grade team and the club captain, together with the captain of the various teams for the lower grades; delegates to the Canterbury Hockey Association, Messrs L, Byers, H. E. Bell and T. M’Caffrey. The opening day was set down for April S on Hagley Park Hospital Corner.
