HAGUEY CLUB. The Hag ley Golf Club opens its reason next Saturday when the mixed foursome will be played for the Opening Day Challenge Cup. Mr A. Shaw, late professional of the Hamilton Golf Club has been appointed professional of the Hagley Club for the coming season. ASHBURTON OLUB. The Ashburton Golf Club opened its 1922 season on Saturday afternoon. In spite of rather unfavourable weather a large number of players took part in a mixed foursome competition, which was won by Miss Christian and Bruce, who returned the good net score of 40. At the conclusion of the match the players were entertained at afternoon tea by the president (Mr Derisley Wood) and Mrs Wood. Tn declaring the season open Mr Wood congratulated members on the condition of 'be links which, owing to their efforts, were in first-class order. With the increase in membership tbp present promised to be the most successful season in the club's history.
