EVENTS OF THE WEEK. [From Our Correspondent.] CHRISTIAN TEMPERANCE UNION. There was a good attendance again at the meeting of the Sumner branch of the Women's Christian Temperance Union this week, when MTs David M’Kee, one of the oldest temperance workers in the Dominion, gave the address for the afternoon. Mrs M’Kee spoke of the havoc wrought by the war on the health and will power of many of the returned men and urged that it was the duty of the women of New Zealand to work in their interests with as much energy as they displayed during the war. Mrs M’Kee's remarks •were much appreciated, a. very enjoyable afternoon including two solos by Mrs Wilfred Peers and the usual refreshing afternoon tea. INTER-BOROUGH CONTEST.
