OPAWA CLUB’S TOURNAMENT. PROGRESSIVE RINKS COMPETITION. The Opawa Bowling Club’s second annual progressive rinks competition was held this afternoon under ideal conditions. Sixteen rinks from seven different clubs took part. Five games each of forty-five minutes’ duration, were played by each rink. The following clubs were represented:—Christchurch, Sumner, Edgeware, St Albans, Sydenham, Heathcote and Opawa. The green was in splendid playing order. Following are the results: — First Game. Wilkinson. Brown. Pavitt, Jacques (Opawa) 6, defeated Butler. Peek, Griffiths, Scott (Sydenham) 3. Stewart, Gagliardi, Matson, Herd (Edgeware) 6. defeated Worsley, Clarke. Lucas, Talbot (Opawa) 4. Lee. State, Rollinaon, Prisk (Opawa) 8, defeated Maddren. W. Brown, Uelliwell, Dr Sandston (Christchurch) 2. T. W. Johnston, Gardiner, E. A. Johnson, Maddison (Sumner) 11, defeated W. Haigh. Watkins, Wilson, West (Opawa) 8.. Farrant, Cooper, Garth, Chambers (Syden ham) 11, defeated E. Steans, Good, J. Watson, F. Steans (Opawa) 5. Beaconsall, Werry, M’Kenzie. Mitchell (Sydenham) 8, defeated Weakley, J. Haigh, A. S. Bruce. Keys (Opawa) 4. Gwatkin, Eastwood, Penberthy. Hunter (Opawa) 8. defeated Cornish, M'Keon, Hollis, Jacobsen (Sydenham) 6. Gibb. Barratt, Pegler. Wade (St Albans) 13, defeated Gates, Shrimpton, Smith, Mor gan (Heathcote) 6. Second Game. Wade 5 v. Scott 4. Talbot 6 v. Jacques 3. Sandston 7 v. Herd 4. West 9 v. Prisk 5. Maddison 8 v. Steans 3. Chambers 6 v. Keys 8. Jacobsen 12 v. Mitchell 1. Hunter 10 v. Morgan 3. Third Game. Hunter 8 v. Scott 4. Jacques 8 v. Wade 4. Herd 8 v. Talbot. Sandston 10 v. Prisk 7. Steans 7 v. West 7 (tie). Keys 10 v. Maddison 3. Mitchell 8 v. Chambers 5. Morgan 16 v. Jacobsen 3. Hunter is leading at this stage, with three wins and no losses. RANCIORA. The Rangiora Club's championship competitions came to an end this afternoon, the winners being Rinks—J. M’Kenzie. O. I. Jennings, D. M'Kay and J Gibbs Jordan (skip), who won all their games. Doubles—H. A. Archdall and R. Sinclair, who had eight wins and one loss Singles H. A. Archdall. with seven wins out of nine games.
