THE BIG FETE.
MUSIC AND DANCING. The Playground at the Christchurch Botanic Gardens will be a wonderful place for the children when the new i«p-to-date gymnasium is installed there. It is with the object largely of iaising funds for this that the big garden fete, under the auspices of the Christchurch Domains Board, is being held in the Botanic Gardens to-morrow 'week. Judging by the arrangements already made the fete will prove to be the most successful one held, provided the weather keeps fine. There will be no dearth of music, as in addition to the usual brass bands, there will also be jazz and string orchestras. Another feature of this year’s fete will be Giecian dancing by a corps of school children. Amidst th'* sylvan surroundings of the gardens this entertainment will be of a most interesting nature. Another feature of the fete will be the huge French Army hospital tent. Hosts of other attractions will make up ar. admirable entertainment.
