ACCIDENT’ AT RANGIORA Yesterday afternoon at Rnngiora two lit-tli boys, aged I’e-spectively six and four years, the sons of Messrs P. O’Connor and R. G. Simpson, were knocked down by a motor car in lower Victoria Street and received injuries. The elder boy had his foot run ov*»r and badly crushed and the younger boy sustained a cut on his head, which was not of a serious nature. DROWNED. (Per /Press Association.) ' INVERCARGILL. January 20. A young man named Walter Wright was drowned in the Wyiidham River this morning. He was assisting his employer, Mr J. B. Taylor, to curt stakes. The horses ran back throwing the dray into the river, which was deep nt the spot. Taylor’s little son was in tho dray but was thrown clear bv his father. Tho two men went down with tho dray. Taylor managed to reach tho bank, but Wright was not seen again. Probably he was pinned under tho dray. Two of the horses were drowned. The police are dragging for Wright’a body.
