General Sir Andrew Russell, Dominion president of tlie Returned Soldiers’ Association, will make a touj; of tli© West Coast next month. He will arrive in Christchurch from Wellington on February 8 and will address a meeting of returned soldiers in the Jellicoe Hall that night. The next d».y he will leave tor Grey mouth. Sir Andrew will visit the various centres on the Coast and address meetings at each place. The committee of the Canterbury Rowing Association last night received a latter from Adams, Ltd-, entering «■ crew for tho firms’ four-oar sacs, a new rowing -event which It was proposed to hold on Easter Saturday at Corsair Bay. It was decided to reply that no entrance fee had been fixed for the race, but it was hoped that tho firms nominating crews would make-* donations in order to provide trophies for 'ilit winners.
