Mr IT. B. Sorensen, chairman of the North Canterbury Hospital m a letter received at to-day’s meeting of the board stated that he had been advised bv his doctor to refrain from active public work fbr two months, and although he hoped to be able to attend to a certain of th© routine work of the hoard before then lie would likfi a deputy-chairman appointed in the meantime. Mr Sorensen was granted two months leave of absence, and Mr H. -1. Otley was appointed deputy-chairman. The board expressed a wish for Mr Sorensen’s early recovery
