MISSING FUNDS.

EX-SECRETARY ARRESTED. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON. January 25. The police state that John Arburckle, ex-secretary of the Miners’ Federation, has been arrested in New South Wales on a charge of theft of sums of money belonging to the Federation and the Broken Hill funds. It is said that the sum runs into several thousands of pounds. A constable is leaving Wellington for Sydney to bring the accused back to New Zealand.
