WEDDINGS.

SOOTT—GADD. A wedding was celebrated recently at St Matthew’s Church, St Albans, when Miss Minnie Gadd, third daughter of Mr and Mrs D. Gadd, ■ Madras Street, St Albans, was married to Mr Clarence Frederick Scott, fifth son of Mr and Mrs W. Scott, also of St Albans. The bride, •who was given away by her father, was attired in white satin charmeuse, trimmed with pearls. She wore th© usual veil and orange blossom, and carried a beautiful white shower bouquet of sweet peas, roses and Canterbury bells. Little Edna Clarke made a dainty flower girl dressed in eau de nil, scalloped and relieved with pink. The chief bridesmaid, Miss Elsie Gadd (sister of the bride) woro a pretty frock of. salmon pink crepe de chine daintily trimmed with rosebuds. The second bridesmaid, Miss Jean Muir, wore maize crepe de chine relieved with mauve. The bridesmaids and flower girl wore wreaths of silver leaves and rosebuds to match their dresses and the bridesmaids carried pretty shower bouquets of pink and mauve sweet peas and maidenhair fern. Th© bouquexs, which were very much admired, were made by one of th© bridesmaids, Miss Jean Muir, of Spreydon. At the church door Gladys Clarke handed the bride a horse-shoe of white crepe de chine and pink ribbon. Th© reception was held afterwards in th© Winton Street Hall, where the bride’s mother, attired in a black crepe de chine dress with hat to match, received the guests. The happy couple were the recipient© of many valuable and useful presents. Later Mr and Mrs Scott left on their honeymoon. CAIRNS—ENNIS. The wedding took place on December 28, at St Mary’s Church, Timaru, of Percival Gladstone, second youngest son of Mr P. Cairns, senr., Christ-nhurlc-hi, to Gladys EH leen ~ eecond daughter of Mr A. G. Ennis, Hassell Street, Timaru. The ceremony was performed by Archdeacon Julius, Timaru. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a frock of ivory crepe de chine and overdress of pink ninon, the corsage being of opalescent trimmings.. The veil was prettily arranged with a wreath of orange blossoms. The bride carried a beautiful shower bouquet of .white roses, carnations and maidenhair fern, with streamers of white chiffon and posies of orange blossoms. The bridegroom was attended by tho bride’s brother, Mr -Leslie Ennis. The bridesmaids were Miss G. Parkyn and Miss Muriel Robinson, of Christchurch. Miss Parkyn wore a frock of amethyst crepe de chine and georgette and black hat, daintily trimmed with amethyst graphs and streamers, bhc alf-o carried a shower bouquet of pink roses and mauve sweet peas, the pink streamers being finished with posies of rosebuds. Miss Robinson wore a frock of cameo pink georgette, accordion pleated. Her hat was of pretty lac© straw, trimmed with pink Kticrve ribbons, her bouquet being of pink carnations and sweet peas. After the ceremony a dainty wedding breakfast was served in the Caroline Bay tearooms. Mrs Ennis received the guests, wearing a smart navy merveline silk frock with Oriental trimmings, with a hat of silk and gold lace. Her bouquet was of mauve delphiniums and maidenhair fern. Among the guests v-ere :—Archdeacon Julius (Timaru), Mr and Mrs Herriot (Dunedin), Mr and Mrs Schmedes (Orari), Mr and Mrs Webster (Timaru), Miss Ennis, Mr and Mrs P. W. Cairns (Christchurch), Mr and Mrs A. Robinson (Christchurch), Mr and Mrs Price (Christchurch), Mr and Mrs I. Cairns (Christchurch), Miss C. Martin (Christchurch), Mr Cairns (Christchurch), Mrs Webster (Timaru), Mr B. Ennis (Timaru), Mr A. Ennis (Dunedin) and Misses Cairns (Temuka). The bride travelled in a smart navy tailored costume. Orientally trimmed, with hat of henna and gold.
