The Postmaster-General (Mr Poynton) is taking steps to secure « revision of the exorbitant postal rates on newspaper,?* sent to foreign countries imposed bj the Madrid Postal Convention. His efforts will be at securing A reversion to tli© old charges. (A message received last week stated that it was claimed in Melbourne that the circulation of Australian papers in foreign countries was practically prohibited as n result of the postage increase of 200 per cent decided upon at the Madrid Postal Convention).
