William Henry Jones, charged with being drunk in charge of a horse and cart in Manchester Street on Saturday, was fined 20s, in default 48 hours’ imprisonment. There is a duty on me to see that bolts and bars aro put between you and those you must be prevented from polluting.” These remarks were made by tiie Magistrate, in sentencing Gordon Holmes Barrett, an undersized man, to twelve months’ imprisonment, to be followed by three years’ reformative treatment on two charges of indecently exposing himself, once at Burwcod and once New Brighton. Sub-Inspector J. K. Simpson, who appeared for the police, said that the accused had been twice convicted on a similar charge. The present charges were of a serious nature as the offencehad been committed in front of children.
