Essex, now completing loading at Wellington, will leave that port finally on November 9. for London. Eemuera, leaves Lyttelton this afternoon for Wellington, sailing finally for London on November 15. K. Hall, in stream. SHIPPING NOTES. Captain Sillars will sign off the Canopus to-day on holiday leave and Mr Price, the mate, will take command of the vessel. The Canopus will sail about noon to-day for Westport, taking general cargo. The Kaitangata arrived early this morning from Melbourne, via Hobart and Wellington. On Monday she will be dispatched for Port Chalmers. The Wanaka arrived from Bluff, via Dunedin and Timaru. yesterday morning, and will leave for Napier, Gisborne and Auckland at noon to-day. The Kamo, from Greymonth, via Wellington, is due on Wednesday. The Kamona was dispatched from Lyttelton last evening for Greymouth with general cargo, where she will load for Lyttelton. She Is expected to arrive here on Wednesday or Thursday. The Waikouaiti is due here at the end of next week from Sydney, via Bluff and Dunedin. Tho Wing-atul, from Auckland, is due on Thursday. From this port she will proceed to Timaru and Dunedin. The Remuera is expected to leave Lyttelton for Wellington this afternoon to complete her loading at that port for London. The New Zealand Shipping Company's liner Ruapehu, en route from Wellington to Southampton, continued her voyage from Colon on October 81. The Corinna was due at Wellington this morning from New Plymouth, and is to leave Wellington on Monday for Pieton and Onehnnga. The Essex arrived at Wellington yesterday morning from Napier to complete Homeward loading. She is to sail from Wellington next Wednesday for tho Uni-ed Kingdom. The Shaw. Savill and Albion Company’s liner Matakana, which arrived at Auckland last Wednesday from Liverpool, is on her maiden voyage, and is practically a sister ship to the Raranga, of tho same I’ne. The chief difference between the two vessels is that the Raranga has reciprocating engines, and the Matakana is driven by six turbines. Her total cargo for New Zealand is 8026 tons, of which 3001 tons are for Auckland, 2921 tons for Wellington, 1188 tons for Lyttelton, and 916 tons for Port Chalmers. Captain Y. J. Bosdet Is in command. The Matakana is expected at Wellington on November 9. The C. and D. Line steamer Port Albany Is scheduled to leave Loudon on November 9 for Auckland and Wellington. A French company, it is said, intends to inaugurate a passenger and freight service from Havre to Tahiti. Fast and commodious vessels will be placed on th ; s run, and a regular sailing schedule will he maintained. The operation of this service will result in much of the cargo now brought to Ban Francisco from the Society Islands going by the new sorvice. The Mahfa, at present. at Auckland, brought 5500 tons of Welsh coal for the New Zealand railways. Upon completion of discharge the vessel will commence loading New Zealand produce for England. The Piako arrived this morning with WeHt of England cargo. She will load here and leave on Tuesday for Dunedin. The Wakatu arrived from Kaikoura last night and will he placed on the slip t hih morning for cleaning and painting. On Tuesday she will leave on the return trip V; Wellington, via Kaikoura,
