DEATH OF VIOLET ATKINS* (Per Press Association.) DUNEDIN, November o. James R. Hayne appeared on remand on a charge of unlawfully using an instrument on Violet Ada Atkins to procure a miscarriage. The Chief Detective announced tho death of the woman at Timaru that morning, and said that it might involve a charge of murder. The Magistrate remanded accused, tiii November 10, at Dunedin, on the understanding that he would be further remanded to appear at Timaru on November 17.
