Councillors M’Gregor Wright and J. L. Gant, WooJston’s representatives on the Christchurch City Council, were welcomed on taking their scats at a special meeting of th© council last night by th© Deputy-Mayor (Councillor J. A. Fle&her). Mr W. J. Jenkin, president of the Canterbury Industrial Association, who has been attending the Industrial Exhibition in Wellington, returned to Christchurch yesterday. At last night’s meeting of the General Committee of tho Canterbury branch of the Navy League, a motion of sympathy was passed with the relatives of Messrs R. Leckie. James Little end A. S. Clarkson, three members of the league who had died since the last meeting.
