The Woolsfcon Borough Council at its meeting last night decided to write to the teachers of the schools in the borongh regarding the breaking of street lamps by children and the consequent danger, which might, prove fatal, through the breaking of live wires, A general meeting in connection with the art uiiTon and fete which is being held for the purpose of providing funds lor the memorial "ates at the Waltham, Opawa and St Martins Park was held last evening. The Sanitary Gommittoe reported that Mr H. H. Holland had waited on it in reference to the proposal to provide for the draining of certain low-lying portions of the city. The matter was referred to the Sanitary Committee to consider in conjunction with five petitions on the subject received from ratepayers in different areas.
