In connection with the Bill which Lord Muir Mackenzie is introducing in the Ilou6e of Lords to overcome the cheque betting difficulty, he states that he simply proposes to repeal the section of the existing Act which caused the trouble and to enable any debt payable legally in monty to be paid by cheque. The Bill will contain a clause making it retrospective.
