CZECHO-SLOVAKIA MOBILISES. THE HUNGARIAN TROUBLE, By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright. R eaten-’s Telegrams. (Received October 31, 9.40 a.m.) LONDON, October 30. Ex-Emperor Karl’s capture and the promptness of the Allies in demanding his surrender do not appear to have averted the danger in South-eastern Europe, according to advices from Vienna and Prague. The latter state that, “ the mobilisation of Czecho-Slo-vakia, numbering 168 battalions, will bo completed in ten days. Martial law has been proclaimed, and a. number of arrests for plotting against th© republic have occurred. The Premier, M. Eenis, speaking in the Assembly, said that Western Europe underestimated the Hungarian danger, which must be ended once and f >r all, and. at any cost, in the interests of Czeelio-Slovakia and nil the Allies. M. Bern’s paid a tribute to the faultless working of the mobilisation preparations. He assured the Austrian represent,ifive that in the event of action against Hungary Austria’s neutrality would he respected'. Vienna telegrams show that the Austrians are alarmed at the Little Entente’s ultimatum, fearing that Austria will be drawn into the orbit of th© Little instead of remaining neutral.
