FIDELITY BRINGS MILLION REWARD. LONDON, October 7. The quest of the golden girl is solved by the disclosure of the terms of the late Sir Ernest CasseTs will, under which his {granddaughter, Edwina Ashley, aged twenty years, is the chief residuary legatee, inheriting nearly £1.250,000. The total value of the estate, as far as can be ascertained, is £6,000.000. The probate duty, at 40 per cent, amounts to £2,400,000. Sir Ernest Casscl lefr several legacies to relatives, including an annuity of £30,000 to his sister. and directed that mementoes should be chosen irom his art treasures by many of his friends. Five-eighths of the residue is then to be divided into eight parts, of which Edwina Ashley gets five and her schoolgirl sister, Mary, three. The remaining three-eighths of the residue is to be divided into throe portions, of which one will go to his niece, and one to his nephew\ Felix Casscl. His granddaughter’s share is to be held in trust till her majority or marriage. After her mother’s death Miss Edwina Ashley spent most of her time with her grandfather, who gave a 'ball tor her at Brook House. Park Lane, in 1920. She was presented at Court during the same season. Miss Edwina Ashely is well prepared for her new responsibilities. She is described among her own circle as the youngest hostess in England, having acted ag her father’s chatelaine at Newmarket a year go, when he entertained the Duke of York and Prince Henry. Typically English, she looks attractive, with fair hair and bine eyes. She is studious and roads much, and is fond of country life and dancing. She is a keen golfer, and has played on practically all the fashionable courses in Europe.
