GRANARY OF NEW ZEALAND.

CANTERBURY PROVINCE. Canterbury is the granary of New Zealand. The grain statistics prove it. The total quantity of wheat threshed in New Zealand. January to August, 1921, was 6.597,775 bushels. Canterbury contributed 5,172,865 bushels—ten-thirteenths of the total. The next in order was Otago, with 1,142,101 bushels. The oats threshed for the same period measured 4,509,797 bushels. Canterbury’s quota waa 2,047,155 bushels, nearly half the entire production. Otago was next with 1,171,012 bushels. Canterbury is a province to bo proud of.
