REDUCTION TO-DAY. It is understood that some of the sairy factories in this district have Agreed on a reduction in the wholesale price of butter to Is lid per lb as from to-day, and that the retail price will |>e reduced to 2s Id or 2s 2d. On Saturday morning the Ashburton butter factory reduced the wholesale pet price in pats at the factory door by Id per lb, and the retailers followfed, making the price over the counter 2s 4d.
