NO FURTHER TROUBLE.
RAILWAYS AMD PROGRESS LEAGUE. LAME OFFICIAL REPLY. A kind of promise that it would not occur again was made by the Minister of Railways in replying to th© complaint of Mr Witty that the Progress League’s mail notices had been removed from the railway stations. Mr Witty said that th© league, without charge, was carrying mails that the railways had stopped carrying owing to the railway cut. The removal of the notices was a piece of red tape. The Minister said that the District Manager, in removing the notices, had only done hife duty, as there was ail advertising branch of the Department and no application had been received by it for permission to post the notices. Such notices could not be posted without permission. Representatives of tho Progress League were in Wellington interviewing the General Manager of Railways, and there would be no further trouble*-about the
