Lfcyrd Northclitt’e, in an interview with Mr Hughes, paid a tribute to the people of New Zealand and Australia, saying they were natural, genuine, independent, non-imitative and sentimental. He was particularly impressed by the solicitude shown for returned soldiers at the Melbourne show ana Hand wick races.
