HOSPITAL BOARD.
TO-DAY’S MEETING. Hie North Canterbury Hospital Board met to-day; present-—Mr 11. B. Sorensen (chairman), Dr Fenwick, Rev J. tv. Archer, Mrs E. Green, MVs Herbert, Messrs W. J. Walter, A. T. Smith, S. Andrew, D. M’Rae, G. Armstrong, D. M’Millnn, AY. P. Spence, K H. Holland, H. J. Otlcy, J. AY. Storry, and H. Paterson. The salary of the matron of the Tuberculosis Institution was increased to i.‘250 a The Hospital Committee recommended that the following should be added to the by-law affecting: admission of patients: “ Any person being refused admission to or treatment at the Hospital shall have the right to appeal to t-he Hospital Committee; such appeal to be in writing and presented through the secretary to the board.” The recommendation v. as adopted. Tlio Wellington Hospital Board wrote suggesting an increase in salary, approximately £lO p«'T annum, to first, second and third year nurses in training. The committee recommended that ther« should be a conference of representatives of the four boards ho ns to secure uniformity, which should be held in either Christchurch or Wellington; delegates for the board being the chairman of the committee, the Hon Mr Moore and the secretary. The report was adopted.
