OBITUARY.
REV T. NEAVE. (Pkb. Press Association.) TIM ART'. September 13. | Tho death occurred on Monday afterj noon at his homo in Tiinaru of a veteran minister of the New Zealand Presj byterian Church, the Rev Thomas ! Heave, late of Kurow. He was lx>rn iat Dundee in 1837 and ordained in j 18(51. After three years in the parish j of Perth lie spent twenty-three years in Dorsetshire, where lie came in contact i wilh many men of note. lie was a personal friend of Thomas Hardy, the i novelist, and of tho late Bishop of [Durham He came to New Zealand in ! l .-NT He was twelve arid a half years at Riverton and nearly eighteen years at Kurow. He took much interest in Liberal politics when at Home, and ! kept himself abreast of the problems of ; the day. 11 is wire predeceased him. j He leaves three sons and tire* daugh- * tors. Ihe death occurred here to-day of Mr Thomas Alexander ‘Walker, a retired school master, and a native of Brighton. Sussex. lie came to New Zealand forty-five years ago. After some other appointments he was the first master of the Waimataitni School. Later ho was inspector of special schools. He retired on superannuation five years ago, and lived in Wellington till last week, when Jie came to Timarti to spend the remainder of his life. Apparently he was in good health, but was taken ill this morning u.ud passed away. He leaves a widow but no children
