MIXERS’ FEDERATION.

MR O’ROURKE ELECTED SECRETARY. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, August 26. The election to fill the secretaryship of the New Zealand Miners’ Federation, caused vacant by Mr Arbuckle’s resignation, resulted in the return of Mr P. O’Rourke, of the State mine, formerly president of the Federation. There were six candidates. The ballot was conducted on the preferential voting system. Alessrs O’Rourke and 13a 1 dei\stone (Blackball), were tlie only two in the final ballot, the former being elected by 1383 votes to 1276.
