The first case in which X-rays has been used to diagnose stolen property in the human body occurred at Thurrock. Essex, wliero a woman who was arrested for stealing rings from a jewellers shop swallowed the. plunder. The chief constable ordered an examination and the rays clearly revealed the rings in the stomach. An emetic harmlessly restored them.
