WELLINGTON, August 18. ) Amended regulations gazetted to-day, relating to tho examination and classification of teachers, prescribe payment of the following fees: —For the whole examination, taken at one time, or for two or more groups, £1 ss; for any ono group, 12s 6d ; for each subject to f complete partial pass in group, 7s Gd ; ! provided the maximum fee payable in any case shall not exceed £1 ss. Regulations gazetted in regard to : free places in secondary schools and I district high schools provide that any , pupil who by reason of age is not qualii fied for a free place under the existing { regulations may be admitted to a free j place in a district hign school within , six months after obtaining a certificate j of proficiency.
