THE -WOOL POSITION. A SATISFACTORY CONFERENCE. By Telegraph—Pres. Association—Copyright. Australian and N.Z. Press Association. (Received August 18, 1.55 p.m.) LONDON, August 17. Mr Hughes conferred with the executive of the Wool Federation privately. A statement subseqxiently issued to the Press states that the various matters affecting both the Bradford trade and the wool producers of Australia were discussed. It was felt that Mr Hughes had rendered a great service in stating the position of the wool growers, but members of the federation thought that Mr Hughes had not previously realised tho circumstances and problems which obtain here. One of the objects of the conference v.as to prove that the interests of growers and those of buyers wore inseparable. The intention of the conference has been amply justified, and has resulted in a better understanding of each other’s difficulties. Both Mi Hughes and the members left the conference with strong hopes of closer cooperation and of good permanent results in tho future.
