ATTEMPTED MURDER.
CHARGE MAY BE REDUCED. At a. special sitting of the Lyttelton Magistrate’s Court this afternoon, over which Mi* W. T. Lester, J.P., presided, William Cannon, who, on Tuesday morning last was remanded till August 24 on a charge of attempted murder of his wife, Ruby Cannon, was released on bail, in one surety of £IOO in self, and another surety of £IOO. Acting-Detective Joyce stated that tho charge of attempted rrfurder would probably b© reduced on Wednesdav next to one of carrying a revolver without a permit beyond his dwelling, and with pointing it at a person, for which he is liable to a fine of £IOO.
