A public meeting will be held in the Woolston Oddfellows’ Hall to-niglit at eight o’clock to discuss the desirability or otherwise of iiirmlga matin# with Christchurch. Among the speakers will be Messrs !>. C. Sullivan, M.P:, A. S. Taylor, W. H. Winsor. A. Manhire and J. A. Flesher. The Mayor of Woolston, who is to be elected today, will preside.
Councillor Mrs J 5. Tt. M.'Combs has given notice to move at the special meeting, of the City Council to be held on Tuesday—“ That the officers of the council be asked to prepare a classified list of empty house's in the city, and that an advertisement bo inserted in the newspapers inviting citizens to cooperate by notifying the council of the existence of such houses, and their ownership.”
