Messrs Claude Ferrier und Co. received a telegram from Messrs Wright, Stephonaon, oi Wellington, thia morning- stating that the burque France, which left Lyttelto-n inner harbour at 3.15 pm. on Tuesday, arrived at Wellington lost- evening, Bailing right into Wellington harbour to the a-nchorage ground without th assistance of a tug, having negotiated the trip from Lyttelton in about twenty-seven hours. The Corinna arrived, from Dunedin, via Timaru, this morning. On completing her loading she will proceed this evening to Nelson and New Plymouth. The Calm is duo on Sunday from Wanganui. She will leave on Monday evening for Dunedin. The Breeze, from Wanganui, is dne on Friday morning. She is timed to sail the t-ame evening, Tbo Wakatu arrived from Wellington, via Kaikoura, last night. It is hoped to dispatch her on the return trip to-night. Tho Kaiapoi completed her loading yesterday and sailed last, night for Auckland. Tho John arrived this morning from Timaru to pick up a small quantity of cargo for Wanganui. She should sail at noon for the north. The Opua is due here from Akaroa to-mor-row to load for Wellington and Greymouth. She is expected to leave on. Saturday at noon. Tho Opihi Bailed last night for Auckland with genera! cargo. The Kanna in to load at Auckland at the end of the week for Lvttelton and Dunedin. FRANCE ARRIVES AT WELLINGTON. The barque France, which left the Lyttelton Hea*« *.t 4.15 p.m. on Tuesday arrived off the Wellington Heads at about 6 p.m. y*6fc«rcia.v. Ca.pto.in Wills, of the Wakatu, which arrived in Lyttelton last night, reported that the Fiance passed Kaikoura. at 9 am. yesterday. It. seems probable that tho France, assisted by a favourable wind, wa ', sailed close to the coast off Kaikoura. in order that the school children might view th> vessel. Captain L© Port, during 1 hie stay in I/vttelon, received a letter from one of the school teachers asking him if he would endeavour to shape his course ao aa to be os close to land an possible when passing Kaikoura. GERMAN LINES TO INDIA. Th© report, of the llansa Steamship Company, of Bremen, states that the directors hono that a number of nc-w ship*? will bo delivered in the course of the present year.
