CHILDREN’S COLLECTIONS.
The instinct of ownership is firmly implanted in human nature, and is best gratified in children bv allowing them to collect such objects as their fancy dictates. If their bent is towards natural history, the little, people will want to.collect shells, seaweed, birds’eggs; butterflies, or a hundred and one other thuigs that will make a certain' amount or what an old nurse use to call “ clutter” about the house. If possible, let a small room or even a cupboard be given up to these collections, tho arranging of which will afford valuable training in orderliness and neatness. Some children will want to collect stamps, cigarette cards, even omnibus tickets. Let them follow their own instincts in these matters. Things which appear worthless to us acquire "'interest to them as part of “my collection.”
