THE METROPOLITAN MARKET. TO-DAY'S SALE, Tliere were fairly largo yardings of stock at the metropolitan market at Addington to day. Tho beef market opened fairly firm Tbe entry of fat sheep was large and prices wero weaker compared with those ruling ox late. Store sheep prices also declined. STORE SHEEP. Tbe number of store sheep yarded was somewhat above the average for the time of the year. A let of low-conditioned sheep were forward. Bidding was very slack indeed and sales were much more difficu-t to make than has been the case for a long time past. What sheep were disposed of were sold at several shillings below the rates ruling a month ago. There was an entry of 360 head of fat cattle, the quality varying considerably. Bidding started on a. level with the rates ruling at the pre-National sale. Second quality beef was somewhat neglected.
