A small fish, about six inches long, with silvery scales, was caught by fishermen in Lyttelton Harbour and was sent to the Canterbury Museum to-day. It has been identified by Mr G. Archey, assistant curator, as a. silver Dory. It is related to the famous John Dury, but has not been recorded outside New Zealand waters. Mr Archey states that it is not common, but was reported by Mr E. R. Waite during the Government trawling expedition on the eastern coast of fho Dominion in 1907, at Otago, Hawke’s Bay, Poverty Bay, Bay of Tslads and tho Chatham Islands.
