PUBLIC WORKS.
(Per Prtssß Association.) WELLINGTON, August 5. A deputation introduced bv Mr F. F. Hookly, M.P., urged upon the Ministers of Public Works and Lands the desirability of the deviation of the tourist road from Waiotapu to Taupo, shortening the road by six miles, cutting out some very steep hills, taking the road right through the Reparoa soldier settlement, and providing a greatly improved main road from Auckland to Napier. The Hon J. G. Coates replied that ho would get his engineer’s report on the matter, and that ho and his colleagues would give it their consideration
