Two amusing passages relieved the tedium of the Arbitration Court’s sitting to-day. Dr C. Ned will, giving evidence in a compensation case, in which, the state of one of plaintiff’s shoulders was in question,, said that for the purpose of comparison he had examined one of the shoulders of a dentist who did not do any hard muscular work and did not play any violent game except bowls.” Mr W. J. Hunter, who appeared for the plaintiff, protested against the description of bowls as a <u# violent game.’’ Later Mr Hunter said to Dr Nedwill. “ Now, I put it to you, even though he is my client, that the man is a little on the slack side/-’ fi There seems nothing inconsistent in such a man being my friend’s client,’ 7 remarked Mr M. J. Gresson, who was on the opposite side.
